The Portsmouth Book Sale returns; High School seniors awarded scholarships From 2024 sale proceeds

PORTSMOUTH The Portsmouth Women's City Club (PWCC) will host its 3rd Annual Portsmouth Book Sale at 375 Middle St. in Portsmouth on Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22 and June 28-29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, June 25 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from this year's sale will fund next year's scholarships.

The Book Sale continues to grow, and this year offers shoppers more than 6,000 well-organized, high-quality books at low prices. There are more than 39 categories to choose from, including best-sellers, fiction, mystery, wellness, gardening, cooking, vintage, children’s, young adult, business, and more. The titles are arranged to let you quickly find your favorite topic or author, and so varied that you'll discover something wonderful and new.

The Staff Picks table features hot new titles and volunteer favorites; the large collection of children’s books has many marked as free (limit five per child 10 or under, 10 per family). All the books are donated, and the sale is staffed by volunteers, which enables the PWCC to keep the cost of books low (most at $4 or less) so book lovers can stock up and fill their home libraries!

"We are thrilled at the support our book sale has received from the public," said Carrie Barron, the Women's Club president. "Not only is it a great way to rehome books, but the proceeds go back to the community through scholarships and other donations.”

Details on the book sale can be found at www.portsmouthbooksale.org.
