Aurora Hunting 101 Presented by Sages Entertainment
PORTSMOUTH — Sages Entertainment is helping bring Aurora Hunting 101 to Portsmouth on Tuesday, Oct. 14, offering a beginner-friendly evening talk that reveals the science and wonder behind the Northern Lights. This engaging session is perfect for adventurers, photographers, and anyone curious about chasing the aurora in New Hampshire.
The program will explore when and where to see the Northern Lights, the basics of solar activity and weather conditions, what gear to bring, and how to capture the moment on camera. Guests will leave with the tools and inspiration to bring the universe a little closer.
The talk will be presented by Caleigh MacPherson, an experienced engineer and STEM advocate with a passion for space exploration. A New Hampshire native, Caleigh holds master’s degrees in Engineering Management from Duke University and Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, where she specialized in Applied Spacecraft Systems. She first gained recognition leading UNH’s award-winning Lunabotics team in NASA’s Robotic Mining Competition and now serves as a NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Solar System Ambassador, engaging communities in the wonders of space. Recognized as the NH High Tech Council’s TechWoman of the Year and StayWorkPlay’s Young Professional of the Year, Caleigh brings both expertise and enthusiasm to every event she hosts.
