Albany International Celebrates New Headquarters in Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH— Albany International Corp., a global leader in advanced materials science, celebrated the official opening of its new corporate headquarters in Portsmouth, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 16 attended by more than 100 guests. The event welcomed Gov. Kelly Ayotte, University of New Hampshire President Elizabeth Chilton, City officials, employees and Chamber of Commerce members.
Gunnar Kleveland, President and CEO of Albany International, opened the program with remarks highlighting the company’s journey and its enthusiastic move to Portsmouth.
“Portsmouth, NH, was selected as the ideal location for our new headquarters due to its vibrant community, strategic location, and excellent quality of life,” said Kleveland. “Its proximity to major metropolitan areas like Boston allows for convenient access to talent, clients, and partners, while three easily accessible major airports facilitate domestic and international travel, thereby enhancing business operations and connectivity.”
Gov. Ayotte and UNH President Elizabeth Chilton also addressed the audience, about the importance of community and industry relationships and the great state of New Hampshire.
Following the program, held under a large tent in the parking lot, guests toured the newly renovated first and fourth floors of Albany’s headquarters at 325 Corporate Drive in Pease International Tradeport. The first floor features an employee lounge, training room, gym, and a golf simulator. The fourth floor includes modern offices, conference rooms, open collaboration spaces, privacy pods, and a kitchen and cafeteria—designed to foster innovation, teamwork, and employee well-being.
Albany International's presence in Rochester, NH will remain strong as a center of excellence for the Engineered Composites Research & Development team as well as continuing to focus on manufacturing for the Albany Safran Composites business. New composites manufacturing opportunities are being developed for the company's additional facilities in Rochester.
