About Us
The Seacoast Jazz Society was founded in 1990 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in New Hampshire. Our mission is to further a love of jazz in the community, to support local musicians, and to foster and support the development of young artists. We pursue our mission in several ways, including:
• spearheading the annual Seacoast Jazz Festival, first offered in 1983 and every year since (except 2020)
• sponsoring jazz performances and events in the NH Seacoast
• providing scholarships to young artists
• helping promote local musicians and their performances
• offering lectures, presentations, and educational workshops for the public and musicians
• cohosting guest artists with other music organizations and institutions
• helping to fund special jazz projects
• bringing jazz to retirement and residential home
• publishing an e-newsletter with articles, information, and listening suggestions
• maintaining and distributing a public calendar of upcoming jazz events throughout the region
• and more!
