Position Summary
GoodWork is seeking a passionate and fun professional to join our amazing team and play a role in advancing our mission through support in fund development and communications. The successful candidate will report to the CEO, help GoodWork generate resources and interest in our mission, and will be responsible for working collaboratively across the organization to implement fundraising strategies, assist with donor relations, and support the organization's marketing and communication efforts.
Fund Development (approx. 10 hours/week)
- Assist with the implementation of GoodWork’s fund development strategy in collaboration with the CEO, and Fund Development Committee.
- Support the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of individual, corporate, and foundation donors as well as maintain strong relationships ensuring regular communication and acknowledgment of donor support.
- Help plan and execute fund development events and campaigns, grant and sponsorship applications, and one-on-one donor meetings to meet annual fund development goals.
- Work with the COO to maintain a donor database, track contributions, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Work closely with the CEO and board to engage them in fund development activities, including donor meetings and events.
- Develop and implement the annual appeal and NH Gives campaign in partnership with the CEO.
- Maintain a unique and consistent brand image throughout GoodWork’s communications.
- Produce a digital newsletter, e-blasts, social media posts, impact testimonials, and stories for media releases.
- Update the website to ensure information is timely and correct.
- Ensure GoodWork donors, sponsors, board members, and volunteers are recognized appropriately in all communications and on the website.
- Create additional communication materials like signage, marketing materials, slide shows, etc., as needed. As well as graphics for flyers, e-blasts, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Support the implementation of GoodWork’s communications plan.
- Collaborate with staff to gather stories and data to highlight the positive outcomes of our work and to ensure alignment between fund development and communications efforts and programmatic goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership to utilize and strengthen impact data, inspire storytelling in all communications, and cultivate relationships with key partners.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e.: nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or business) or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in fund development, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and sponsorship, preferred.
- Experience in marketing and communications, including digital marketing, media relations, and public relations, preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook) and experience with or willingness and ability to learn additional software platforms like WordPress, MailChimp, EventBrite, and Little Green Light.
- Comfort with graphic design basics in CANVA preferred.
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance.
- Compliance with all personnel policies.

Physical & Mental Requirements
- Must be able to move about the facility inside and out 50% of the time.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time operating a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
This position is primarily based in GoodWork’s Portsmouth headquarters at Carey Cottage, 400 Little Harbor Road with occasional travel around the Seacoast area and an opportunity for a hybrid schedule following the initial training period. The 20 hours per week will be spread over mornings, afternoons, and some evenings. GoodWork is a flexible work environment, respectful of work/life balance.
Compensation
This is a part-time non-exempt position for up to twenty hours/week. The anticipated starting hourly rate is between $25 and $30 commensurate with experience. Part-time employees are eligible to receive matching contributions to GoodWork’s retirement program as well as prorated PTO, Sick Time, and Holidays.
