South Church hosts Con Tutti Spring Concert "Gonna Let It Shine!"

“ GONNA LET IT SHINE! ” *** Con Tutti Celebrates 25 years of SINGING! *** Spring Concert Saturday May 2 Celebrate spring with singing! Con Tutti singers usher in the season celebrating their 25th anniversary in song on May 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at South Church, 292 State Street in Portsmouth! ”We are so very excited,” says Director Joanne Connolly, "to be singing our favorite songs from the past 25 years, and to be looking into the next 25 years with some new tunes added to our repertoire! We all are definitely living in challenging times, and the 80 singers of Con Tutti plan to sing songs to uplift the spirit, make you want to dance, and move you with tenderness!" "We've always sung a great mix of music, and this concert will highlight all of the very varied styles we sing......from South Africa to Billy Joel, from spirituals arranged in a gospel funk style with piano, bass and drums to beautifully tender a cappella, from Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" to Patsy Cline, from Amazing American gospel to Irish and Scottish ballads. GONNA LET IT SHINE will keep your feet wanting to dance, and your heart to sing! Con Tutti singers will be joined by the very fun and talented Matt Jenson on piano, and his trio on bass and percussion, including African percussion.
