Portsmouth Submarine Memorial Association/Albacore Park Gala Dinner Fundraiser

The Albacore Park and USS ALBACORE Submarine Museum and Visitor's Center invites you to help in celebrating the Albacore's 70th anniversary! On Sunday, Dec. 3, we will be holding a fundraiser dinner at Grill 28 at the Pease International Trade-port. This Event will be our largest fundraising event of the year. Tickets will be on sale at https://tinyurl.com/ussalbacore for $100 and the event will be widely publicized. This gala event includes a dinner, cash bar, silent auction, and special guest speaker Wayne Soares, ESPN commentator and advocate for our nation's veterans.

Our mission is to preserve and promote our rich maritime heritage here in Portsmouth, and we are currently pursuing an expansion to support our mission and provide more space for exhibits, educational programs, and events. We are currently working on a new wing adjacent to our current visitor center and museum, which will greatly expand display and programming space for submarine and maritime history. We will be seeking to raise funds for this new wing through a capital campaign, and I encourage you to spread the word to our community and offer any support or assistance that you think could benefit our efforts.
 
We have already invested over $1.7 million to ensure the historic preservation of the Albacore, which is a National Historic Landmark and a significant engineering and welded structures landmark. We have also had a great working and long-term relationship with the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and have teamed up with them for programs such as Wreaths Across America and Navy History Day. Now, we are looking to expand our services by incorporating educational programs such as STEM events and exhibits and programming about our rich maritime history.
