Description
Free event at Throwback Brewery Jericho's Landing Function Room sponsored by the non-profit Gundalow Company.
The Piscataqua Science Cafe series runs during the Gundalow Company’s off season at locations around the seacoast. Each night brings in experts from a variety of backgrounds together for a discussion about current science topics.
This Science Cafe is presented by Melissa Brogle of the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and Chris Chabot of Plymouth University discussing horseschoe crab monitoring in Great Bay.
Horseshoe crabs are keystone species that can be found from Maine to the Yucatan Peninsula, including the Great Bay Estuary. A group of scientists has been investigating and monitoring the Great Bay population for nearly 20 years and we are still discovering many exciting and fascinating findings! These efforts have grown recently with more and more local Citizen Scientists becoming involved. Come hear about some of our research, get answers to your questions, and how you might become involved in the Summer of 2025!
