FILM: Meko - film screening + Q&A
Description
Meko film screening + Q&A Thursday, June 13 Doors: 6pm / Event: 7pm All ages / Seated Pay-what-you-choose (starting at $15) ---
A film 7-years in the making, Meko is the story of man and community who have weathered the storm. Join filmmaker Harrison Buck on an in-depth look into the macro-effects of climate change on delicate coastal communities like the Bahamas Outer Islands through the lens of legacy fly fishing guide and angler Omeko “Meko” Glinton.
Co-starring female guide and angler Abbie Schuster, Buck’s film gives viewers a deeper look into the world of elite fishing guides and in particular – how Glinton’s world was turned upside down after the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian. A tale of human resilience in the face of unspeakable destruction and personal loss – Meko is a testament to the strength of the human soul and how fly fishing might be the key to a sustainable future in the Bahamas Outer Islands. A Q&A and reception with filmmaker Harrison Buck will follow the 60-minute screening.
