Being Black: The Immigrant Experience
Description
Join the Seacoast African American Cultural Center (SAACC) and the Portsmouth Historical Society for a roundtable discussion about the immigrant experience in New Hampshire, as well as SAACC’s current exhibition, “Being Black: The Immigrant Experience.” The discussion will include the artists from the show, painter Jozimar Matimano and photographer Becky Field, as well as Ali Sekou, Manager of Community Engagement & Inclusion at New Hampshire Housing, and Dr. Sara Withers, a cultural anthropologist and principal lecturer at the University of New Hampshire. Following the discussion, guests will also have the opportunity to visit the exhibition. This event is part of the William & Arlene Brewster Lecture Series at Portsmouth Historical Society.
