Atlantic Grill host Comedy Night with...
Description
Boston comedy legend Steve Sweeney comes to the Atlantic Grill in Rye on Thursday, August 16.
Sweeney is joined by comedians Dave Rattigan and Heather Peabody.
Comedian/actor Sweeney’s keen dialect and character skills have made him a key figure in Boston’s cultural landscape. Sweeney’s career includes 25 films, national television appearances, radio hosting, and thousands of nights headlining Boston's best comedy clubs He has been a featured on major television shows including David Letterman, Evening at the Improv, Comics Come Home and Comedy Central, and starred in his own Boston-based sitcom, Park Street Under. His trademark political satire has earned him top host spots on Boston radio stations 100.7FM WZLX (Sweeney’s Neighborhood) and 95.9FM WATD (Jay Mohr and Opie & Anthony.) In addition to standup and his one-man theater show Townie, Sweeney starred and co-produced the movie Sweeney Killing Sweeney (in post production),and co-hosts a show on Boston Herald Radio with former Massachusetts Treasurer Joe Malone.
Rattigan’s CD (Dave Rattigan: Thinks He’s Funny) has received airplay on Sirius satellite radio and other stations and podcasts, and his video clips run on NickMom.com and RooftopComedy.com. He’s made appearances on the syndicated Steve Katsos Show, and lent his voice to the animated Drill Booth, scheduled for 2019 release. He’s performed in Ireland at the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, and at the Hampton Beach (NH) Comedy Festival, the Boston Comedy Festival, and the Women in Comedy Festival.
Peabody is the tallest female comedian on the New England comedy circuit, and a rising star. She’s worked with headliners Juston McKinney, Tony V., Jimmy Dunn, Patty Ross, Frank Santorelli, Mike McDonald and Paul Nardizzi, all of whom she’s taller than. In her “other” professional life, she’s a mental health expert specializing in dementia, which she said prepared her well for dealing with comedians.
