DESCRIPTION:The Weight Band continues the legacy of The Band while forging its own path in modern Americana. Led by guitarist Jim Weider\, a former member of The Band and Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble Band\, the group includes keyboardists Brian Mitchell and Matt Zeiner\, bassist Albert Rogers\, and drummer Michael Bram. Together\, they blend roadhouse rock\, blues\, country soul\, swamp pop\, and folk into a sound Weider calls the "Woodstock Sound." Their second studio album\, Shines Like Gold\, features nine original songs and a cover of Willie Dixon\, recorded live over four days at Clubhouse Studios in Rhinebeck\, NY. The album mixes robust roots rock\, poignant ballads\, and gospel-tinged harmonies\, showcasing the band's cohesion and musicianship. Since their 2017 PBS debut on Infinity Hall Live and the release of their acclaimed debut World Gone Mad\, The Weight Band has performed across the U.S.\, keeping the spirit of The Band alive.
